Money Matters: $Ky
$ky is a financial literacy game created for the Boys and Girls Club of America for their Money Matters curriculum. Rather than being about maximizing wealth, $ky is about the relationship between life goals and financial decisions.
In $ky, players embark on a life’s journey, navigating numerous choices at various life stages and experiencing the financial consequences of their decisions. The floating island setting is more than a fantasy; it’s used as a metaphor to drive home financial concepts. A player’s island represents their home, life, and self, while their cashflow is represented by the island’s altitude. Players’ choices cause them to gain or lose altitude. Those players who properly plan for their future can find themselves in stratospheric levels of altitude and beyond by the game’s end!
