Operation: Reach is a story-based adventure game created for the Boys and Girls Club of America around the topics of resiliency and reintegration. The goal of the game is twofold: first, to help students learn how to effectively deal with stressors in their lives, and second, to help students who have family members that go away, such as in a military context, deal with the departure and return of that person in a healthy way.
Reach is a character-based adventure game at its core. The cast is comprised of a quirky crew of adventurers who sail to various locations and deal with many stressors and issues with reintegration throughout their travels. Through the experiences of the crew, the game teaches valuable skills and lessons to the player, such as the importance of exercise, diet, and sleep in managing stress.
