mobile quest co-lab

Mobile Quest Co-Lab was a teacher workshop and kid's summer camp in one package. It focused on the use of mobile technology to enhance embodied gameplay. For example, if you had an "earthquake detector" app, you could use it as a feedback mechanism to play a balancing game.

The program lasted for two weeks, the first one focusing on a cohort of teachers. They experienced an intensive, hands-on, playful workshop that taught them about game design, technology, and play while prepping them for the following week - running a similar experience for kid campers!

My role in the project focused heavily on envisioning the way technology would be used in the program. We knew it wasn't going to be an "app development" camp, so we had to figure out a way to leverage pre-existing technologies that were readily available, such as the camera or accelerometer on an iPad.
