Summer of Minecraft

In Summer of Minecraft, kids connect from wherever they are to a virtual Minecraft server to attend summer camp. Staffed by passionate counselors, the camp provides activities and challenges that foster creativity and collaboration.

As part of the program, students could sign up for coding camp, where they used Lua, a real-life programming language, to program robots in the game known as "turtles". We taught students how to program turtles to navigate mazes, collect resources, and even build houses!

I had a few roles in the Summer of Minecraft project. I helped the team envision the structure of the camp and designed the coding camp curriculum from the ground-up. I also designed and facilitated the training program for camp counselors, helping them develop a vision and culture for the events they would run in-game.
